The Church is a study of St Marks Church in Leamington Spa. I attended the nursery that was attached to this church when I was younger and, despite not being religious, I always felt a pull to go back to there, but never found a reason to. However, in December 2021, with Covid looming over everyones Christmas, I returned to the church. I felt a huge sense of relief returning to a familiar place amongst the fear regarding the pandemic. Being in the space again, the smell and the pews all the same as when I left it made me so calm.The Church in, in the moments I was there, had been untouched by the fear and worry, and I felt a need to try and document this feeling and the Church itself.
